181217-N-BY095-0099 NORFOLK (Dec. 17, 2018) The amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24) departs Naval Station Norfolk for a deployment as part of the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) as the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) is moored to the pier before deploying. The Kearsarge ARG is deploying in support of maritime security operations, crisis response and theater security cooperation, while also providing a forward naval presence.
