181213-N-RM689-1035 SAN DIEGO (Dec. 13, 2018) The body of Chief Quartermaster Raymond Chavez, previously the oldest survivor of the Dec. 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, is driven through Miramar National Cemetery by a horse-drawn carriage during his funeral service. Chavez passed away peacefully in his sleep Nov. 21 at age 106. He was stationed aboard the minesweeper USS Condor (AMC 14) during the attack.
