181213-N-OW019-1006 BAB AL-MANDEB STRAIT (Dec. 13, 2018) The guided-missile destroyer USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93) is underway behind the amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and the U.S. Coast Guard medium endurance cutter USCGS Mohawk (WMEC-913) while transiting the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, Dec. 13, 2018. Chung-Hoon is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
