181109-N-YP246-0126 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Nov. 9, 2018) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87) approaches the guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55) and the guided-missile destroyers USS Nitze (DDG 94) and USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) during a fast attack craft (FAC)/fast inshore attack craft (FIAC) exercise. Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group (CSG) cruiser-destroyer (CRUDES) units are completing the first east coast CRUDES Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) exercise. SWATT is led by the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) and is designed to increase warfighting proficiency, lethality, and interoperability of participating units.
