181106-N-PW480-1434 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Nov. 6, 2018) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze (DDG 94) fires its Mark 45 5-inch/54-caliber gun during an Integrated Maritime Portable Acoustic Sound Scoring (IMPASS) system evolution aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze (DDG 94). IMPASS certification recognizes a ship’s ability to support ground forces by accurately firing a Mark 45 5-inch/54-caliber gun. Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group (CSG) cruiser-destroyer (CRUDES) units participate in the first East Coast CRUDES Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT).
