Christopher Cabana, a combat engineer attached to Combat Logistics Battalion 31, chainsaws a fallen tree at the veteran’s memorial in Tinian, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, during Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) relief efforts in response to Super Typhoon Yutu, Nov. 4, 2018. Businesses, government buildings, homes and schools were heavily damaged by Yutu, which made a direct hit with devastating effect on Tinian, Oct. 25, 2018, packing 170 mph winds. Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and Combat Logistics Battalion 31 have been leading a multi-service contingent since Oct. 29, 2018, as part of the FEMA-directed mission.
