181103-N-JH188-0010 TINIAN, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (Nov. 3, 2018) The amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) sits off the coast of Tinian, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, during Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) relief efforts in response to Super Typhoon Yutu. Sailors and Marines aboard Ashland, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group and 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit team, are providing Department of Defense support to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands' civil and local officials as part of the FEMA-supported Typhoon Yutu recovery efforts.
