181029-N-TG517-001 PORTSMOUTH, Va. (Oct. 29, 2018) Gosport Park, located just a few blocks from Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia, contains static displays with historical significance to the U.S. Navy. Among them is the sail from the USS Thomas Jefferson (SSBN 618), an Ethan Allen-class, nuclear-powered submarine that was commissioned in 1963 and decommissioned in 1985. Other static pieces include several naval gun turrets, a gazebo, and two propellers. The facility is open to the public, and is located behind the Portsmouth Judicial Center in Portsmouth, Virginia.
