181004-N-HO435-0002 PENSACOLA, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2018) Lynn Simpson, executive director of Total Force Manpower & Personnel for Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, left, discusses the Multipurpose Reconfigurable Training System 3-D (MRTS 3-D) with representatives from Naval Education and Training Command and Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training. MRTS 3-D laboratories and classrooms allow Sailors to use 50-inch touch screens to see and access parts of tactical equipment in a video game simulation environment. MRTS 3-D is an example of the kind of technology Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division Orlando is pursuing as part of Sailor 2025's Ready, Relevant Learning initiative, to increase the number of "reps and sets" a Sailor can perform before actually interacting with physical equipment or systems.
