180929-N-SA412-0104 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Sept. 29, 2018) Damage Controlman 3rd Class Timothy Swan directs Fireman Christopher Maddaloni as he points a firefighting thermal imager toward a simulated class bravo fire during a damage control drill as part of a Mobility-Engineering (MOB-E) certification aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1). The MOB-E certification, performed by Afloat Training Group Western Pacific (ATG WESTPAC), ensures Sailors aboard Wasp have the necessary skills to respond to potential shipboard casualties. Wasp, flagship of the Wasp ARG, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
