180925-N-RI884-0241 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Sept. 25, 2018) Marines assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) rappel from a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter assigned to the Flying Tigers of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 262 (Reenforced), as it hovers over the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) during a fast rope exercise. Wasp, flagship of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st MEU, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
