Richard Brown, commander of Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, speaks to the newest graduates from the Basic Division Officer Course (BDOC). BDOC is a 9-week course focused on division leadership and is the surface warfare officer's career path initial training. During the event, Brown reminded the graduates that they have joined the fleet during the return of great power competitions and told them to be combat ready and battle-minded in order to turn their readiness training into combat lethality in support of the National Defense Strategy.
