Brad Skillman, commander of Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) 2, meets with Navy and Marine Corps commanders of Combined Task Force (CTF) 89 aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) to plan Hurricane Florence relief efforts. U.S. Naval Forces Northern Command deployed Kearsarge, along with embarked elements of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Expeditionary Strike Group 2 command element, to be positioned to provide Defense Support to Civil Authorities from the sea in response to Hurricane Florence, should support be requested.
