180915-N-KL846-1002 NORFOLK (Sept. 15, 2018) Sailors and aircraft assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 7 return to Naval Station Norfolk after embarking the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) in anticipation of Hurricane Florence. Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command ordered all capable U.S. Navy ships in the Hampton Roads area to sortie on Sept. 10, ahead of the hurricane. Nearly 30 ships got underway from Naval Station Norfolk and Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story as Hurricane Florence was forecasted to bring high winds and rain to the Mid-Atlantic coast. Ships were directed to areas of the Atlantic where they are best postured for storm avoidance. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Christopher Lindahl/Released)
