180912-N-JH668-0048 MILLINGTON, Tenn. (Sept. 12, 2018) Rear Adm. Brendan R. McLane, commander of Navy Recruiting Command, experiences the Navy’s Virtual Reality asset, the “Nimitz,” during a scheduled visit to Millington Central High School. The experience consists of going through a series of exercises, starting with a briefing, before participating in a virtual high-speed water extraction of a Navy SEAL team that is pinned down under enemy fire. The Nimitz is named after Fleet Adm. Chester Nimitz, a native of Fredericksburg, Texas, who commanded the U.S. Pacific Fleet during WWII.
