180909-N-WR252-097 CHUUK, Federated States of Micronesia (Sept. 9, 2018) Steelworker 2nd Class Tyler Ault, a team leader assigned to Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2, enters the water to conduct a quality control dive to inspect explosive charges placed on a shoal in the Federated States of Micronesia. UCT-2 placed 252 pounds of explosives into holes bored into the shallow shoal to safely demolish it. UCT-2 is a key component of the Naval Construction Force, providing the capability to construct, inspect, repair, and maintain the full spectrum of maritime infrastructure.
