Wilson, Jr., commander of Naval Surface Force Atlantic, receives a brief on the smartboard by Bud Weeks, the navigation, seamanship and shiphandling director of the Surface Warfare Officers School (SWOS), during a tour of the conning officer virtual environment station. Wilson visited SWOS to speak with the command’s leadership, department heads and prospective commanding officers, as well as to tour various seamanship and navigation trainers. SWOS provides a continuum of professional education and training in support of surface Navy requirements and ensures Sailors are proficient, competent, and ready to serve at sea.
