180830-N-JO245-166
180830-N-JO245-166 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Aug. 30, 2018) The guided-missile destroyer USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) transits in formation with the guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87), the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), and the aircraft carriers USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) and USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) during dual-carrier sustainment and qualification operations in the Atlantic. In addition to demonstrating the Navy’s inherent flexibility and scalability, this evolution provides the opportunity to conduct complex, multi-unit training to enhance maritime interoperability and combat readiness; prepare the Navy to protect our homeland; and preserve and promote peace anywhere around the world.
