180809-N-MU198-165 MARPI, Saipan (Aug. 9, 2018) Sailors attached to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 5, Detachment Marianas, worked together with members of Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services to prepare a cache of unexploded ordnance for detonation. EODMU-5 Detachment Marianas works in direct support of JRM providing EOD support and services throughout the region. EODMU-5 is assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 75, the primary expeditionary task force responsible for the planning and execution of coastal riverine operations, explosive ordnance disposal, diving engineering and construction, and underwater construction in the U.S. 7th fleet area of responsibility.
