180721-N-WR252-111 AGANA, Guam (July 21, 2018) Sailors assigned to the 30th Naval Construction Regiment (30 NCR) participate with the Village of Barrigada and ride on their float during the 74th Anniversary celebration of Guam’s Liberation Day. The Battle for Guam began July 21, 1944, when American forces invaded Guam to liberate it from the Japanese occupiers. Barrigada is 30 NCR’s Sister Village, which is a partnership between the village and command for community service and outreach opportunities. (US.
