180721-N-WR119-1037 MARINE CORPS TRAINING AREA BELLOWS, Hawaii (July 21, 2018) Builder 1st Class Michael Hartman, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3, cuts a section of concrete during a airfield damage repair exercise during the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise. NMCB-3, 18 and 22 participated in a joint exercise with the Army 561st Engineering Company, 130th Engineer Brigade, 84th Engineer Battalion during RIMPAC July 21, 2018. Twenty-five nations, 46 ships, five submarines, and about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security of the world’s oceans.
