180716-N-IT407-001 ATLANTIC OCEAN (July 16, 2018) Naval Oceanographic Office personnel prepare to launch 10 littoral battlespace sensing gliders from the Pathfinder-class oceanographic survey ship USNS Maury (T-AGS 66) in the eastern Atlantic Ocean in support of the Naval Oceanographic Office goal to deploy more than 50 gliders globally. These gliders are unmanned underwater vehicles used to collect data that is incorporated into ocean models, ultimately providing underwater forecasts for U.S. Navy operations.
