(June 21, 2018) Electronics Technician (Navigation) 2nd Class Israel Orta, assigned to the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Nebraska (SSBN 739), looks though the periscope in the attack center of the Trident Training Facility Bangor’s Submarine Bridge Trainer. Nebraska is one of eight ballistic missile submarines stationed at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor. Nebraska recently completed a major maintenance period that included an engineered refueling overhaul to extend the life of the submarine.
