In-Ho Kim, commanding officer of the Republic of Korea navy ship Yulgok Yi I (DDG 992), following the arrival of Yulgok Yi I to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam for the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2018. Twenty-six nations, 47 ships, five submarines, approximately 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. RIMPAC is the world's largest international maritime exercise, providing a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships between participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security in the world's oceans.
