180601-N-PH222-0882 PACIFIC OCEAN (June 1, 2018) Sailors assigned to the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23), participate in a small-arms gun shoot on the flight deck during a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is the final pre-deployment exercise which certifies the combined Essex Amphibious Ready Group and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s abilities to conduct military operations at sea and project power ashore during their upcoming deployment in summer of 2018.
