180505-N-AZ808-1763 SOUTH CHINA SEA (May 5, 2018) Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class John Jackson, assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97), fires an M9 handgun during a live-fire exercise. Halsey is currently underway with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group on a regularly scheduled deployment to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
