180427-N-NB178-1010 MEDITERRANEAN SEA (April 27, 2018) The guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), left, and the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) transit the Mediterranean Sea after completing their transit through the Strait of Gibraltar. Forrest Sherman is deployed as part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group. With Harry S. Truman as the flagship, deploying strike group assets include staffs, ships, and aircraft of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 8, Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 28 and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 1; as well as the Sachen-class German navy frigate FGS Hessen (F 221).
