180328-N-PH222-0539 PACIFIC OCEAN (March 28, 2018) Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class Brendon S. Gerry, from Jacksonville, Fla., stands ready at a M2 HB .50-caliber machine gun station during a simulated maritime reaction force visit, board, search and seizure exercise aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23). Anchorage is underway with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (13th MEU) for an amphibious squadron and MEU integration (PMINT) exercise. PMINT is a training evolution between Essex Amphibious Ready Group and 13th MEU, which allows Sailors and Marines to train as a cohesive unit in preparation for their upcoming deployment.
