Mike Bernacchi, commander of Naval Service Training Command (NSTC) about new training at Recruit Training Command (RTC). MCPON was on hand at RTC to see changes in the curriculum to a more intensive hands-on training. The training includes line-handling and seamanship on board USS Marlinspike Basic Seamanship Trainer. RTC is approximately eight weeks and all enlistees into the U.S. Navy begin their careers at the command.
