180307-M-ZL982-292 MEDITERRANEAN SEA (March 7, 2018) A landing craft, air cushion transports Marines assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (26th MEU) and gear from the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) to shore in Israel for exercise Juniper Cobra 2018. The 26th MEU is in Israel for the two-week combined exercise, which is designed to improve interoperability between American and Israeli forces, focusing on the combined ability to deter and, if needed, defend against missile attacks.
