180224-N-FN963-0015 PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 24, 2018) Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Recruit Tyler Davies, right, from Van Alstyne, Texas, and Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Jarid Davis, from Amarillo, Texas, remove the chocks and chains from an MH-60R Sea Hawk, assigned to the “Scorpions” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 49, aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104). Sterett is on a scheduled deployment to conduct operations in the Indo-Pacific region. It will also support the Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) in order to advance U.S. Pacific Fleet’s Up-Gunned ESG concept and will train with forward-deployed amphibious ships across all mission areas.
