180209-M-ZL982-103 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Feb. 9, 2018) U.S. Navy Sailors direct a U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), after landing on the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) as part of deck landing qualifications, where the pilot must demonstrate that they can safely and successfully take off and land the aircraft, in the Atlantic Ocean. The 26th MEU is participating in a deployment at sea to conduct maritime and peacekeeping operations, as well as maintain relations with foreign militaries through joint exercises.
