180207-N-PP197-0088 APRA HARBOR, Guam (Feb. 7, 2018) Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician 3rd Class Jake Ballard and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician 1st Class Ruben Villegas, both assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 5 (EODMU-5), swim to a buoy before diving during underwater mine countermeasures training in Apra Harbor, Guam. EODMU5 conducts counter IED operations, renders safe explosive hazards and disarms underwater explosives. EODMU-5 is assigned to Commander, Task Force 75, the primary expeditionary task force responsible for the planning and execution of coastal riverine operations, explosive ordnance disposal, diving engineering and construction, and underwater construction in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
