180122-N-GZ228-008 SAN DIEGO (Jan 22, 2018) The future San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27) transits the San Diego Bay as it arrives to its new homeport of San Diego. Portland is named after the largest city in Oregon, and is the 11th San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship and the third ship to bear the namesake.
