191219-N-CD254-1010 DILI, Timor-Leste (Dec. 19, 2019) Utilitiesman Constructionman Mario Moreno, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, Detail Timor-Leste, uses a power tamper to compact select fill soil for the footers for the two-room schoolhouse construction project in support of Timor-Leste’s Ministry of Health. This classroom and bathroom will give students a space to conduct research and enhance overall operations at the institute. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
