191212-N-MD802-1486 GULF OF OMAN (Dec. 12, 2019) Sonar Technician (Surface) 2nd Class Jorge Del Canto fires a .50-caliber machine gun aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99) during a live-fire exercise. Farragut is part of the Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and is operating in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and the Pacific Ocean through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
