191211-N-HH215-1028 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Dec.11, 2019) Sailors assigned to Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) and members from the CFAY safety department deliver daikons (Japanese radishes) to pedestrians during the Year-End Traffic Safety Campaign at Yokosuka-Chuo Station. The daikon symbolizes the Japanese phrase daikon-zetsu which means to abolish. The campaign is designed to raise awareness to prevent drinking and driving. CFAY provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of U.S. 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and 26,000 military and civilian personnel and their families.
