191204-N-MD802-1173 STRAIT OF HORMUZ (Dec. 4, 2019) The guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99), the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) and the guided-missile cruiser Leyte Gulf (CG 55) transit the Strait of Hormuz. Farragut is part of the Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and is operating in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
