191113-N-HC646-0057 OAK HARBOR, Wash. (Nov. 13, 2019) Sailors assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 1 locate an inert training aid submerged in the waters of Crescent Harbor during a certification training exercise at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island (NASWI) Seaplane Base. NASWI's location and natural environment provides Sailors and Marines assigned to EODMU1's expeditionary mine countermeasure companies the opportunity to train their force in eliminating explosive threats at sea and from the sea using man-machine teaming with unmanned underwater vehicles and unique delivery methods, such as free-fall jumping and scuba diving.
