Oonnatee, Royal Thai Navy’s base operations commander, U.S. Navy Seabees deployed with NMCB-5 and local Thais take part in a traditional Thai event called the Loi Krathong, where they float a small craft called Krathongs made out of banana leaves and flowers. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
