191107-N-RU357-1017 NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BAHRAIN (Nov. 7, 2019) Rear Adm. Roy Kitchener, commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic, visits Sailors aboard the coastal patrol ship USS Tempest (PC 2). Kitchener discussed efforts to generate combat ready ships and battle-minded crews while preparing for the high-end fight. Tempest is forward deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and the Pacific Ocean through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
