Steffen, commanding officer of the Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Olympia (SSN 717), delivers remarks during a change of command ceremony. Steffen relieved Cmdr. Benjamin J. Selph. The submarine is scheduled to begin the inactivation and decommissioning process at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The 35-year-old Olympia was commissioned on Nov. 17, 1984.
