191101-N-DX868-2414 GULF OF TADJOURA (Nov. 1, 2019) Coastal Riverine Squadron (CRS) 1 patrol boats provide point security for the guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99). CRS-1 is forward-deployed with Combined Task Group 68.6 at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. The Coastal Riverine Force is a core Navy capability that provides port and harbor security, high value asset security, and maritime security operation in the coastal and inland waterways. Farragut is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
