McDermott, an instructor assigned to Officer Training Command, Newport (OTCN) in Newport, Rhode Island, explains the operations of the Conning Officer Virtual Environment (COVE) to a former Naval officer from graduating class of Foxtrot 7001 at Officer Candidate School (OCS), Oct. 25, 2019. The class graduated in 1969 and is visiting OTCN as part of their 50th reunion. OCS develops civilians and fleet Sailors into newly commissioned officers morally, mentally, physically and imbue them with the highest ideals of honor, courage and commitment in order to prepare graduates for service in the fleet as Naval officers.
