Sailors spent about an hour speaking with a dozen teenagers from the Mechanik School in downtown Slupsk as part of an ongoing effort to build strong community partnerships where the new Navy base is being built in the nearby town of Redzikowo. The new base will be home to the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS) which will expand a defensive capability that protects NATO European territories, populations and forces against ballistic missiles launched from outside the Euro-Atlantic region.
