191004-N-PL543-1121 PHILIPPINE SEA (Oct. 4, 2019) Sailors participate in an (OC) spray course in the hangar bay of the Navy's forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The Sailors were sprayed to experience its effects as a non-lethal force protection measure that is utilized to momentarily impair a target's ability to see and function. The OC spray course is a part of the security reaction force training that provides Sailors with experience in non-lethal weapons, baton employment and close-range subject control. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
