191002-N-BM428-0217 ENGLISH CHANNEL (Oct. 2, 2019) Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) fires its 5-inch gun during a Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST) live-fire gunnery exercise, Oct. 2, 2019. FOST is a three-week exercise led by the Royal Navy that tests the ship’s warfighting ability. Donald Cook, forward deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its ninth patrol in the U.S. 6th fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
