190917-N-BM428-0336 ENGLISH CHANNEL (Sept. 16, 2019) The five-inch gun aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) fires during a gunnery exercise as a part of Flag Officer’s Sea Training (FOST), Sept. 16, 2019. FOST is a three-week exercise lead by the Royal Navy that tests the ship’s warfighting ability. Donald Cook, forward deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its ninth patrol in the U.S. 6th fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
