(September 11, 2019) Sailors from Amphibious Construction Battalion (ACB) 1 use a winch to lift an anchor onto a utility boat tow tug during Offshore Petroleum Discharge System (OPDS) operations for the Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE) 2019, Sept. 11. To demonstrate the OPDS capability, which contributes to the Navy’s Defense Support to Civil Authorities mission, SS Petersburg will be transferring salt water for the duration of the exercise.
