Ford, and Mr. Greg Willard, former White House staff assistant and personal aide to President Ford, participate in a Naval tradition by giving autographed bills to Lt. Howard Smith, from Gainesville, Texas, assigned to Ford's air department, to be placed under the ouija board in the ship's flight deck control. Susan Ford Bales visited with Ford's new check-ins at the command's Wolverine Academy and interacted with Sailors during a visit to the ship.
